The Bhutan Youth Development Fund (YDF) celebrated the Social Forestry Day marking the significant day of the 49th Coronation of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuck. As part of its on-going commitment to honor His Majesty and combat climate change, YDF is striving to plant a million trees and contribute to the green economy of the country.
Her Majesty Gyalyum Tseyring Pem Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Youth Development Fund joined by the members of the royal family, esteemed board members, young volunteers, dedicated friends, and supporters of YDF planted 216 trees in Samarzingkha, Thimphu.
YDF has chosen to focus on planting best tree species that absorb the highest carbon dioxide. The organization aims to plant a million trees by 2033, over a period of 10 years.
